The Lace Mill Honored as Project of the Year, Upstate Region

October 2015  The New York State Association for Affordable Housing (NYSAFAH) has announced the honorees for its upcoming Annual Fall Awards for Excellence in affordable housing. The Lace Mill, developed by National Equity Fund partner, Rural Ulster Preservation Company (RUPCO), will be honored as Project of the Year, Upstate Region during a ceremony on November 4 in New York City.

Originally constructed in 1903, the Lace Mill is an historic preservation and adaptive reuse of the former United States Lace Curtain Mills Factory into 55 live-work housing units in midtown Kingston, New York. The five studio, 32 one-, 17 two- and one three-bedroom handicap-accessible apartments are affordable to households earning between 50-60 percent of Area Median Income.
