Depot at Hyde Park Brings 43 Homes to Low-Income Families & Individuals in LA

Depot At Hyde Park Exterior Building
September 11, 2023

Congratulations to our partners at Women Organizing Resources Knowledge and Services (W.O.R.K.S) and GTM Holdings, LLC on the ribbon cutting of the Depot at Hyde Park in southeast LA! The event was well-attended by city officials, including Mayor Bass and Councilman Harris-Dawson, and community members.

On the former site of the abandoned Hyde Park Branch Library, Depot at Hyde Park now offers 43 homes to special needs populations that includes nine units reserved for low-income families earning less than 40% of the area median income (AMI) and 33 units reserved for chronically homeless or at-risk individuals and families with one manager's unit. Supportive housing services are provided by the St. Joseph Center, which uses a "Housing First" approach for homeless individuals and families living in the 33 subsidized units and employs two full-time case managers.

This affordable housing community's addition of safe, stable homes with supportive services is one step in the right direction to alleviate the increasing risk of homelessness in LA.
