Hosted in Washington, D.C. by Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC), this prestigious annual award ceremony recognizes developments across ten categories, with winners presented by members of Congress. NEF is proud to be a partner on a truly inspirational affordable housing development with an incredible impact on the Brownsville, Brooklyn community.
The Rise is a mixed-use, Passive House-certified development that provides 72 units of supportive and affordable housing for justice-involved families and low-income households along with over 13,000 square feet of community facility space in Brownsville, Brooklyn. This award-winning development employs Active Design and Trauma-Informed Design principles to improve the social, physical, and mental wellbeing of residents. As the winning proposal for the “Site J” property included in New York State’s Vital Brooklyn Initiative, The Rise embodies the comprehensive community development effort to mitigate chronic social, economic, and health disparities.
