Governor Kathy Hochul joined Transitional Services for New York, Inc. and community leaders in Jamaica, Queens to celebrate the groundbreaking of The Morgan, a new affordable and supportive housing development.
The Morgan will offer 50 affordable apartments to the community, including 30 supportive housing units for residents struggling with mental illness and 20 units for households earning at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). This development will provide critical housing and wraparound services such as case management and mental health support, addressing the needs of vulnerable populations and offering stability, safety, and access to resources that help residents thrive and achieve long-term success.
Residents will have access to modern amenities such as a fitness center, landscaped outdoor spaces, bike storage, and community rooms. These features create spaces for wellness, connection, and supportive services that empower residents to live healthy, independent lives and pursue their goals.
Thank you to our partners at Transitional Services at New York who made this milestone possible and for expanding access to quality affordable housing and strengthening neighborhoods across New York City, and a special thanks to Emily Chen for representing NEF!
