NEF was proud to celebrate the grand opening of Summer Street Apartments in Providence, Rhode Island, a beautiful new community delivering 176 affordable housing units designed to support residents and strengthen the surrounding neighborhood.
Developed by Crossroads Rhode Island with a focus on sustainability and community connection, Summer Street Apartments is a net-zero, solar-powered building that sets a new standard for environmentally conscious affordable housing in Rhode Island. Residents will benefit from on-site case management and supportive services that will help promote long-term stability and well-being. Each floor features a common space that encourages social connection, while a large, landscaped courtyard offers green space for relaxation and recreation. Convenient access to public transportation further connects residents to jobs, education, and essential resources throughout Providence.
This milestone demonstrates what's possible when mission-driven partners come together to expand access to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing.
