Congratulations to our partners at Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) on breaking ground on Hillside Flats Phase I in Washington DC's Anacostia neighborhood! Investing in the redevelopment of the Barry Farm-Hillsdale community through increased access to affordable housing is a step toward empowering everything individual and family to reach their full potential.
What's truly inspiring and unique about Hillside Flats Phase I is the intentionality towards supporting entrepreneurs and artists by providing 9 live-work units with hybrid studio space in the flats. Out of the 90 units, 5 will be accessible for families with mobility impairments, 2 will be for sensory impaired families, 42 units will be designated for former Barry Farm Dwellings residents, and all units will be affordable to households earning up to 80% of the area median income.
Thanks to our partners' efforts, the Barry Farm-Hillsdale community will continue to thrive for years to come!
