Family Housing

Quincy Family Housing is a new 51-unit complex comprised of six one- and two-story buildings in the small rural town of Quincy in central Washington. The 20 two- and 31 three-bedroom townhome-style apartments are affordable to families earning between 30-50 percent of Area Median Income.

While steady growth in the region is fueled by an influx of several large high-tech firms drawn to the area’s inexpensive hydroelectric power and available land, agriculture remains the main industry and employer. The resulting need for affordable farm worker housing is met in part by 38 residences set aside at the Quincy Family Housing targeting this group.

The buildings meet Washington State Evergreen Standards (similar to LEED) and feature 40-year roofs, low-VOC paints/caulking, high-efficiency water heaters, Energy Star appliances and low-volume toilets/fixtures. The large outdoor common areas are dotted with playgrounds and landscaping including drought tolerant plants and trees. A centrally located community building houses offices for management and services, a meeting room, computer room and laundry.

Sponsor, Catholic Charities Housing Services, a faith-based non-profit founded in 1988 offers computer lab training, English classes, financial literacy, home-buyer education, health care, immigration law and workers rights assistance.

National Equity Fund® invested $8.2 million of LIHTC equity in the project.
