COVID Relief Grant Applications Accepted September 1-14

About the Campaign

NEF Housing Charities, Inc., a Section 501(c)(3) subsidiary of National Equity Fund, Inc., has raised capital to provide grants of up to $7,500 to non-profit developers and service providers of LIHTC properties located in rural and small town locations, helping them to administer direct assistance to the most vulnerable residents struggling with the social and economic effects caused by COVID-19. NEF’s commitment began with an initial $100,000 that funded micro grants to affordable housing partners and is continuing with matching donations raised by NEF Housing Charities, Inc. dollar for dollar up to $50,000.  We have $82,000 available for grants at this time.

How will grant funds be utilized?

Each qualifying organization can apply to receive funding designated to provide food, medicine or healthcare related products, COVID-related cleaning supplies, transportation, assistance with internet/utility bills, e-learning assistance including payment of internet services or computer rental, and other basic needs as determined by the organization such as personal protective equipment (PPE) for maintenance or service staff to help minimize exposure to residents while continuing to provide essential services. Payment of rent will not be part of the grant program.
