NEF Launches Site to Raise Funds for Grant Program

NEF Housing Charities, Inc., a Section 501(c)(3) subsidiary of National Equity Fund, Inc., is seeking to raise up to $500,000 to provide grants of up to $10,000 to non-profit developers and service providers of LIHTC properties, helping them to administer direct assistance to the most vulnerable residents struggling with the social and economic effects caused by COVID-19. NEF’s commitment begins with an initial $100,000 that will fund micro grants to affordable housing partners and continues with matching donations raised by NEF Housing Charities, Inc. dollar for dollar up to $50,000.

How you can help

Your donation is providing critical support to qualifying non-profit housing and related social services organizations. Funds will help meet basic needs such as food, medicine, healthcare supplies and more.


How will grant funds be utilized?

Each qualifying organization can apply to receive funding designated to provide food, medicine or healthcare related products, cleaning supplies, or assistance with internet and utility bills, and other basic needs as determined by the organization such as personal protective equipment (PPE) for maintenance or service staff to help minimize exposure to residents while continuing to provide essential services. Payment of rent will not be part of the grant program.
